Antonio P. Castillo purchased the Old Texas Café on Fourth Street in downtown Waco, across from the Roosevelt Hotel in 1920, establishing what would become an enduring family restaurant legacy. Here, Castillo and two of his servers stand in the original restaurant’s successor, the Aztec Café, which stood between Eighth and Ninth Streets downtown until its closure in 1952.
