Strong Partnership

Roy Bertrand (left) and George Kouvas (right) opened the B-K Coffee Shop after working together at the Palace of Sweets. Bertrand respected Kouvas greatly and appreciated the business experience which he brought to the venture. The two shared a fifty-fifty partnership in the coffee shop until 1939, when Kouvas left to open his own business a block away.
