The structure which housed the Abraxas Club boasted a rich musical history of its own. The venue was once known as the Terrace Club, a country western nightclub at which a young Willie Nelson had once performed. Afterward, the building briefly served as a cabaret bar before the Abraxas founders transformed the space.
