Cadet G. L. Hart was one of the two men who rushed the field and started the riot. While Cadet Lee tried to wreste the steering wheel from Baylor student Willard Newberry, Cadet Hart grabbed the back wheel of the car “and held on until the vehicle came to a stop.” With the slow pace of the car and a distracted driver, stopping the car was possible.
