Police officers escorted Muneer Deeb to his trial in 1985. Due to the publicity and attention paid to the case, Deeb’s trial moved to Cleburne, Texas, where he was convicted and sentenced to death. While in prison, he studied law, later becoming a licensed paralegal, and maintained his innocence. On June 30, 1993, he was acquitted of all charges. He died from cancer six years after his exoneration.
