Friends often referred to Freeman as “Rerun” because he resembled the character from the show What’s Happening!! They remembered that Baker played piano for his church every week and planned to attend Paul Quinn College in Waco. And, they recalled that Booker, who loved basketball, once hit a game-winning half-court shot when playing for Mexia High School’s JV team.
