Though thirteen general contractors bid for Waco Hall, university and community leaders awarded Waco’s own Johnson Company with the contract. Previously, Johnson built the Baylor Library, various buildings at Texas A&M, and Waco locals considered them “one of the best college-building companies in the state.”
