Texas author, Fred Gipson explains his inspiration for writing the story of Old Yeller, not knowing that the book would go on to be an American Classic. Gipson's book has been translated into 12 languages as well as Braille. Due to the book's success, Old Yeller was adapted into a full-length film in 1957, with Gipson as a screenwriter.
