In 1959 Joseph A. Chatman, another Black physician, published a history of the Lone Star State Medical, Dental, and Pharmaceutical Association, which Majors helped found. It was the only statewide medical association that Black doctors could join in Texas until the Texas Medical Association voted to integrate in 1955.
