The promise of a new spacious base of operations for Texas Ranger Company F led Texas Ranger Capt. Clint Peoples to heartily endorse the Fort Fisher project. Prior to the construction of Fort Fisher, Company F was limited to two small rooms filled with cast-off furniture not to Peoples's liking.
