Front Parlor
This file appears in: Fort House
The Fort House double parlors reflect the stylistic preferences and entertainment practices common to affluent families in the late Victorian period. The windows are dressed with velvet curtains, and the wood flooring is covered by an Oriental rug in the Sarouk style. Particularly impressive is the Rococo Revival-style upright piano (top left), around which the Fort family likely gathered to listen to private recitals.
