In Rocketdyne’s company newsletter, Skywriter, they announced, “Rocketdyne Engines to See Finest Hour During Apollo 11 Mission.” The company stated that the July 20, 1969, moon landing “will be a triumphant climax to ten years of hard work by Rocketdyne employees.” These 10 years included work done in Central Texas, in McGregor’s Rocketdyne Facility that had opened for operations under this name in 1959.
