Rotan Drive (Riverside Drive)

The original Cameron land donation did not allow for a scenic riverside drive that would connect downtown Waco to Cameron Park. Between 1913-1914, Mrs. Kate S. M. Rotan worked hard to secure all but three of the deeds needed to create such a roadway. These red brick gates stand as tributes to her efforts. Today they are located on either side of University Parks Drive near the southern entrance to the park.
