Sales Pitch

The sales expertise of Frank Trau and Louis Collie, former Behrens' Drug Company employees, aided Merrick Medicine Company greatly. Trau and Collie took Baby Percy Medicine to local drugstores during the company's early years and swapped it for the competitors' product. They then sold the competitors' product to other stores at discounted prices. Baby Percy Medicine became such a hit early on that the swapping routine quickly ended as sales picked up.
